Lombardi Street

Never follow the straight and narrow

You find yourself at a fork in the road. Not a metaphorical one but an actual divergence in a path. Your captor is behind you, poking you with a stick, and swearing that the poking will stop if you take one of the forks.

Both paths ahead of you go into a forest. One path, to your left, is hilly and curvy with several branches on the ground. The other path, to your right, is completely straightforward and well-lit. There are several bears on the path to your right, and you can't see much of anything to your left. What do you do?

This is a direction I have not tried. I Thank this man and give him a token of my appreciation by giving him a piece of my treasure, I then began to move slowly west.

After several minutes of gradual westward movement, you find yourself tackled and handcuffed to a chair. Your pants pockets are completely empty now - not even a trace of dirt or a small rock - and your assailant turns out to be the same man who had told you to go west. He doesn't look nearly as decrepit anymore.

You ask him what his problem is, and he says that his problem is you. Specifically that you knocked the guardian feline for such a loop that the goblins living southward ran off with all the treasure while you were attempting to climb the hill. He chose to lead you to his own residence and tackle you from behind because he's cowardly like that, but he adds that unnecessary bravery can get someone killed in these parts. Also, the reason that the cat should not be fed was that any food makes it sleepy and increases the chance of goblin theft, which is why all it's meals have to be under strict supervision. You didn't supervise the cat at all.

Your current captor (you seem to be getting captured a lot) snatches your knife case from your shirt pocket (remembe picking up that thing?) and removes the blade from the sheath. Then he raises the knife and asks you to give him one good reason why he shouldn't cut your throat immediately.

What, if anything, do you say to him?

I would say "I am your Father, would you cut the throat of your own father. I brought you in this world. You are a part of me. What you try to do to me, you will be doing to yourself. Prove to yourself that you can move beyond that of being a coward. Face me! I fear no man. A coward will meet his demise 10 times worst".

The man is clearly older than you are and definitely not your son. He moves the blade in a direction that makes your heart beat faster than it already had been beating, and then he looks into your eyes and drops the knife. He says he saw a desperation in your eyes - which could explain why you were willing to say anything that might possibly spare your life - and that he thinks your attitude may be put to good use.

He shows you that slightly further west, there is a locked door and tells you that he has the key to that door, but he will only give it to you if you can return the stolen gold from the goblins. You are able to stand and told to hurry up. The only available exit is BACK.

He saw more than desperation in my eyes.He is no fool. I'm en route , in a hurry to the available exit. I am going back.

You're back in the clearing. You know the drill. EAST, WEST, NORTH or SOUTH. Pick one, or try to do something else there, or do nothing at all. Up to you.

The sun rises in the East, I'm traveling East

You travel east, and once again you encounter the cat on the pile of treasure. It is awake now, and looks especially grumpy. The only available exit is BACK.

I'll take my chances and go back in an hour

You inexplicably attempt to wait an hour by the grumpy cat. It is also a hungry cat. It eats you before you get a chance to tell the old man that the treasure is actually still there.

You are dead. Game over
That was fun Ethan I like that It was a great opportunity to get one to think very good And I I am honored to play the game. One must step back from center stage and watch the process. Thank you for pointing that out. I'm just so eager and full of fire. What a learning experience while we work towards our next role. Oh by the way I am Not dead the cat did not have any teeth.
